And so the story begins… Summer of 2016. We had just settled into our “temporary” life in Toronto, still adjusting to the rhythm of a new city while quietly longing for the days we’d spent in New York. Everything felt a little in-between—familiar yet foreign, stable yet uncertain. Then, one day, an email arrived. Not just any email, but the kind that makes your heart skip a beat. It was from Bonpoint.
Now, if you’ve been around here long enough, you’ll know this isn’t just another brand. Bonpoint has always been the name I quietly hoped would one day become part of our story. I used to tell myself, if there were ever one collaboration I’d truly dream of—one that would feel both personal and authentic—it would be with Bonpoint. And here it was, waiting in my inbox.
At first, I kept it quiet. Part of me didn’t want to jinx it, but the other part was wary of the inevitable label that often comes with this kind of work: “mommy blogger.” Now, let me be clear, I don’t see anything negative about that term. But it never felt quite right for me. My ambitions have always leaned more toward storytelling, creativity, and artistry than fitting into a specific category. And most importantly, I didn’t want my children to feel like they were being pulled into an industry they weren’t ready for.
Finding Balance
Fast-forward three seasons, and things look a little different. James and Stella have joined me for three campaigns now—each one more special than the last—and even walked a Bonpoint runway together. What started as hesitation has grown into a kind of comfort. Not because my perspective has changed entirely, but because I’ve learned that how you involve your kids makes all the difference.
For me, the golden rule is simple: it can never feel commercial. The images I share of them need to remain authentic, tasteful, and above all, real. I like to think of these moments as more artistic than promotional—snapshots of our family life woven into the world of fashion in a way that feels natural. This approach has allowed me to embrace these opportunities without sacrificing what matters most: protecting their space and childhood.
Of course, the conversations around sharing children on social media are often layered with judgment, and for a long time, that weighed heavily on me. But what I’ve come to realize is that the outcome depends entirely on intention. If the focus remains on creativity and storytelling—rather than exposure for exposure’s sake—then it’s possible to find a balance that feels right.
Three Campaigns, Three Cities
Looking back now, I can’t help but smile at the journey so far. From winter to summer, urban cityscapes to countryside backdrops, we’ve carried Bonpoint with us from New York to Paris to Toronto. Each campaign has its own memory, its own story, its own mood.
There was our first shoot in Central Park, where the golden light and crisp air turned every frame into something cinematic. There was the quiet countryside campaign that felt more like a family holiday than work. And then, of course, the Paris runway—an experience that left us all a little wide-eyed, a little giddy, and very grateful. To watch James and Stella walk hand in hand under the Paris lights was surreal. As a mother, it was equal parts nerve-wracking and heartwarming. As a creative, it was one of those moments that you tuck away in your memory and carry forever.
The Next Chapter
And now, here we are, looking toward Bonpoint Fall 2017. With the collection already making waves, I’m excited to share some of the looks that have become our favorites—pieces that carry the perfect balance of timeless elegance and playful ease. Bonpoint has always had this uncanny ability to capture the essence of childhood without losing sophistication. It’s luxury, yes, but never in a way that feels forced.
Before long, the four of us will be packing our bags for Paris again. Over the years, this trip has become more than just a work commitment—it’s evolved into our favorite kind of family holiday. Paris in January has its own magic. The city feels quieter, calmer, yet charged with creative energy as fashion week unfolds. For us, it’s the perfect combination: a little work, a little play, and a lot of memories.
Looking Back, Moving Forward
When I think back to that first email in Toronto, I never could have predicted how this collaboration would grow, or how much it would come to mean to us as a family. It started as a dream partnership, and it has blossomed into something deeply personal. It has taught me lessons about balance, intention, and the importance of setting boundaries in an industry that doesn’t always make that easy.
Most of all, it has reminded me that fashion doesn’t have to exist in a vacuum. It can intersect with real life, with family, with the everyday chaos and beauty that comes with it. And when it does, the result is richer, more layered, and infinitely more meaningful.
So, as we count down the days until Paris, I’ll be sharing more from the Fall 2017 collection—and maybe a few holiday looks too. Until then, I’d love for you to revisit some of our past shoots. Start with Central Park if you haven’t already, or go all the way back to where it all began. It’s been quite a journey so far… and something tells me the best chapters are still ahead.
